Capturing “That” | McKinney and Frisco, Texas, Engagement Photographer

I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with Michelle and Charge after they had a slight mishap while working with another photographer. It is always an unexpected gift to have the opportunity to gain someone’s trust after a bad experience elsewhere. They had quite a few specific requests, questions, and concerns (due to their last experience,) and I was thrilled to have the chance to speak with them and work with them on every detail of their session.  We had a lot of fun and got some amazing shots. The “that”  to which I refer to is “that” connection between two people that is real, raw, and powerful. Something that eludes us on our daily lives, even though it is all around us. Being able to capture it on film forever is something I take pride in, and I think that Michelle and Charge’s photos reflect the love they have for each other.” Don’t just take my word for it, though – check out some photos from their session! Enjoy!:)

A whole Lotta Smiles | Frisco, Texas, Family Photographer

What a joy the Patel family was to work with. The morning temperatures were perfect for the session and everyone seemed to be in a great mood, too! It didn’t take long to get smiles out of their son, and as long as we kept it interesting, he was happy to keep on smiling for us! He was definitely an adorable little man, but don’t take my word for it, check out some of the photos below!:)

The Purpose of a Consultation | McKinney, Texas, High School Senior, Sorority, Portrait Photographer

Over the last couple of years there has been an increase in young women in need of photographs for their sorority applications and I have been fortunate enough to be asked to be the photographer for a number of sessions for that reason. They have all been unique and fun, but Gabriele came to me for another reason for her sorority photos. Mainly, that the first session she had with another photographer did not come out well. So, I worked with her to figure out what she didn’t like about her previous session with the other photographer and came up with a plan to capture what she was looking for.

This is one of the reasons I hold a consultation with all of my clients, too. It helps to know who you are and what style of photography you are looking for, what you like in your photos and I work with you to have outfit options that will work the best with the location we choose to shoot at. There is a lot more to photography than just showing up with a camera and snapping a few photos. The consultation allows for you, the client, to know who I am and to have a conversation with me ahead of the photo session, which makes it that much easier to relax in front of the camera.

I spend a lot of time on each session to do my best to get you results that exceed your expectations. I know that a consultation may feel like a waste of time to many people, but I also can’t tell you how many times people have told me they thought it would be a waste of time, but found it to be extremely helpful. I consider myself a “custom” photographer for that reason. I don’t expect to show up and snap a few photos everyday in the same location with the same poses. I want to show off YOU, or your family, or your children, or the unique connection between you and your significant other. Whatever your reason for needing photographs, I try to always make them a reflection of you. Bring me your ideas, your questions and your story and together, we’ll get some amazing photographs you will be proud to show off for a lifetime.

Below, you can see a few shots from Gabriele’s sorority application photos. She was a true pleasure to work with and full of fun.:)

The Beginning of a new chapter | McKinney, Frisco, Texas Engagement Photographer

This photo shoot was an absolute blast! I spent weeks working with Brad on the day he would propose and making sure that I would be there to capture it all for them on “film.” While there, I had to try to make it seem like I was there for another purpose, so I focused on photographing some trees while the two of them talked and played with their dog at the local dog park. At first, I thought she, Elyse, was on to me, but she just questioned Brad why the weird guy with the camera was taking pictures of trees at a dog park. I was seen, but cover not quite blown, thankfully! From there, Brad signaled he was ready to propose, so I waited patiently for Elyse to turn her back so I could turn the camera toward them and snap away!

They are both fantastic people. Elyse greeted me happily after the proposal and we took a few more pictures. It was nice to see a couple that met in high school, make it through college, and finally take the next step in their life together. I have no doubt they will live a happy life together and I hope I get to be there to help capture more of it for them! Check out a few pictures from the day below!

A Little Sunshine | McKinney, Texas, Family Photographer

It’s not often I get to have some fun doing a beach photo session, but Danielle and Bridgette made it an absolute blast. The mother daughter shoot went better than planned, as I snapped away while they wandered the beach, laughed and cuddled. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and hope to have the opportunity to photograph them again in the future! Check out a few shots from their session and see what I mean! Enjoy!
