It’s not often I get asked to do a “first look” photo shoot at the hospital, but when I do, I really enjoy the opportunity! There’s just something special about capturing the first moment when either the parents, or the children get to see the new bundle of joy in the family. For this particular shoot, I was asked to capture the siblings as they saw their new brother for the first time. It’s a special moment and I wanted to take a moment and share just a few of these photos with everyone. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them. They are a wonderful family with a bright and happy future! Enjoy!
I’ve missed some posts over the last month or so due to being so crazy busy, but as the new year has arrived, I wanted to make sure to take a moment and reflect, and say how thankful I am to have had another amazing year with such wonderful clientele. I truly appreciate everyone who chooses me to be their photographer and I love working with each and every one of you who has asked me to be a part of your lives and to capture these memories for you. I have had a lot of laughs and taken a lot of photographs over the last month or two, some of which I will post here for everyone to see. I look forward to 2015 and beyond, and I am forever thankful for all of the wonderful people I have met throughout 2014. Here’s to another amazing year! Thank you so much, and now, enjoy some photos from 2014! 🙂
I am glad to have had the opportunity to work with Michelle and Charge after they had a slight mishap while working with another photographer. It is always an unexpected gift to have the opportunity to gain someone’s trust after a bad experience elsewhere. They had quite a few specific requests, questions, and concerns (due to their last experience,) and I was thrilled to have the chance to speak with them and work with them on every detail of their session. We had a lot of fun and got some amazing shots. The “that” to which I refer to is “that” connection between two people that is real, raw, and powerful. Something that eludes us on our daily lives, even though it is all around us. Being able to capture it on film forever is something I take pride in, and I think that Michelle and Charge’s photos reflect the love they have for each other.” Don’t just take my word for it, though – check out some photos from their session! Enjoy! 🙂
What a joy the Patel family was to work with. The morning temperatures were perfect for the session and everyone seemed to be in a great mood, too! It didn’t take long to get smiles out of their son, and as long as we kept it interesting, he was happy to keep on smiling for us! He was definitely an adorable little man, but don’t take my word for it, check out some of the photos below! 🙂
Over the last couple of years there has been an increase in young women in need of photographs for their sorority applications and I have been fortunate enough to be asked to be the photographer for a number of sessions for that reason. They have all been unique and fun, but Gabriele came to me for another reason for her sorority photos. Mainly, that the first session she had with another photographer did not come out well. So, I worked with her to figure out what she didn’t like about her previous session with the other photographer and came up with a plan to capture what she was looking for.
This is one of the reasons I hold a consultation with all of my clients, too. It helps to know who you are and what style of photography you are looking for, what you like in your photos and I work with you to have outfit options that will work the best with the location we choose to shoot at. There is a lot more to photography than just showing up with a camera and snapping a few photos. The consultation allows for you, the client, to know who I am and to have a conversation with me ahead of the photo session, which makes it that much easier to relax in front of the camera.
I spend a lot of time on each session to do my best to get you results that exceed your expectations. I know that a consultation may feel like a waste of time to many people, but I also can’t tell you how many times people have told me they thought it would be a waste of time, but found it to be extremely helpful. I consider myself a “custom” photographer for that reason. I don’t expect to show up and snap a few photos everyday in the same location with the same poses. I want to show off YOU, or your family, or your children, or the unique connection between you and your significant other. Whatever your reason for needing photographs, I try to always make them a reflection of you. Bring me your ideas, your questions and your story and together, we’ll get some amazing photographs you will be proud to show off for a lifetime.
Below, you can see a few shots from Gabriele’s sorority application photos. She was a true pleasure to work with and full of fun. 🙂
